2010 Honors!

John V. (double bass) is Water Polo All American, will participate in the Junior Olympics for the

4th time this summer and will attend California Lutheran University in the fall. Kyle L. (double bass) will be attending Mt. Hood Community College in September and Emily W. (drums) is a life-guard and will be at OSU next year as will Ben T. (guitar) . Ryan R. , Seth C. , Malea A. , Allison C. , Matthieu G. , Shannon H. , Jefferson C. , Sarita G. , Brendan D. , Ethan S. , Abigail I. , Madeleine I. , Kristina Y. , Katherine Y. , Arik M. , Tanner M. , Annika M. , and Rose D. participated in the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) annual piano festival with over-all VERY high marks. Kyle L. (double-bass) , Jonathan F. (viola) , Sophie M. (violin) , and Miranda J. (violin) from West Linn High won the TRL District Orchestra competition and are headed for State. Carter D. (cello) and Tricia B. (viola) from Lakeridge Orchestra placed 2nd in the TRL competition. Freya S. (piano) was 2nd in districts and is going to State for voice. Freya and Jefferson Chandler (piano) are Jazz Choir Accompanists. Keven Kraus (piano) is Jazz Band Accompanist. Max T. (guitar) and Jackson W. (guitar/voice) formed the rock band “The Side Projects” and played 2 shows at the McKenzie Lounge in Lake Oswego and performed at the Waluga talent show. Tricia B. (viola)

played in the MYSfits fundraising group and performed with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony in the Arlene Schnitzer concert hall. Tricia formed a string quartet with Allison C. (violin, piano, guitar) to earn money playing weddings and events. Allison is in the OPAYCO Youth Orchestra, the

Oregon Repertory Singers and she earned a scholastic art Silver Key merit award. Katherine M. (piano) is Missoula Children’s Theatre accompanist at Sunset and Bolton. Michael M. (drums) and Tyler C. (guitar) are on the honor roll and Katherine N. (guitar) is in the National Honor Society. Sarah L. (guitar) is on the W.L.H.S. honor roll and Foreign Language Honor Society. Candice S.F. (guitar) has the highest 7th grade score in writing at Gardner M.S. Riley O. (piano) was in the All State MS Honor Choir and played Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and Merlin in King Arthur’s Quest. Amiette B. (violin) acted in 2 plays and is an Academic All-Star. Kendra L. (flute) is writing a novel. Sarita H. (viola/drums) is earning money for college by entering Bowling Tournaments. Malea A. (piano) was chosen for Clowns Unlimited. Ryan R. (piano) was in the cast of les Miserable. Matthieu G. (piano) and Lilly R. (piano) received Martial Arts Awards. Elizabeth B. (piano) is a Blue Ribbon Equestrian.

Meghan K. (piano) is Rowing Team Champion, Ski Team Captain, Honor Society member and will be attending Whitman University. Jessica F. (violin) won the Presidential Scholarship to University of Portland. Eric B. (cello) won a scholarship to the Pacific NW College of Arts and is a Martial Arts Black Belt. Sam W. (guitar) became an Eagle Scout, is in the National Art Honor Society and will attend Bringham Young University. Benjamin W. (guitar) became an Eagle Scout, won an “engineering inspiration” award in Seattle and will compete in Atlanta . Caitlyn O. (piano) went to

the Thespian State Competition, is a National Merit Scholar, accompanist for WLHS choirs and will attend Linfield College next year. Tegan C. (piano) is Pre-Med at OSU next year. Treasa B. (cello) will be at Randolf College in Virginia. Choir at Rosemont Ridge MS, played “Garvin” in Footloose and the “Prince” in Princess and the Pea for Missoula Theatre. Sarita G. (piano) was also in Footloose. Katherine Y. (piano) was the “Princess” in Emperor's New Clothes at Stafford. Amiette B. (violin) was “Colette” in her church play “ Camp Walabala ”. Drake M. (guitar) earned a Purple Belt in martial arts.
